Honey BBQ Baby Back Ribs
Ingredients:
- 2 racks baby back ribs (remove the membrane from the back)
- 4 tablespoons Honey BBQ Rib Seasoning & Rub
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 2 (12 oz.) Beers (preferably light beer)
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1/2 cup Water
Directions:
- Prepare the Ribs:
- Begin by removing the silver skin (membrane) from the back of the ribs. This will help make the ribs more tender and allow the flavors to penetrate better. Use a paper towel to grip and pull the membrane off the ribs.
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and rub both sides generously with the Honey BBQ Rib Seasoning & Rub. Drizzle the ribs with olive oil and rub it in to ensure the seasoning sticks.
- Sear the Ribs:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Place the ribs on the hot grill and sear for 6 minutes per side to get a nice crust on the outside. You just want to create a caramelized surface; they will continue to cook in the oven.
- Roast the Ribs:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Place the seared ribs in a large roasting pan. Pour the beers into the pan, ensuring that the ribs are partially submerged in the liquid. This will help tenderize the meat and add flavor.
- Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the oven. Bake for 1.5 hours. The ribs should be tender and nearly done at this point.
- Prepare the Honey BBQ Glaze:
- While the ribs are roasting, combine the honey, 1 teaspoon of Honey BBQ Rib Seasoning, and water in a small bowl. Stir until well combined. This will be the glaze for the ribs.
- Grill and Glaze the Ribs:
- After 1.5 hours of roasting, carefully remove the ribs from the oven. Heat the grill to medium heat.
- Place the roasted ribs back on the grill for a final round of grilling. Brush the honey BBQ glaze generously over the ribs and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes per side. This will caramelize the glaze and add a beautiful sticky finish.
- Serve:
- Once the ribs have a nice golden glaze and the honey has caramelized, remove the ribs from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the ribs between the bones and serve with your favorite sides like coleslaw, cornbread, or grilled veggies.
Tips:
- For an extra smoky flavor, you can add a handful of wood chips to your grill during the searing process.
- If you prefer a more intense glaze, brush on additional layers of honey mixture during the final grilling stage.
Enjoy these tender, juicy, and flavorful Honey BBQ Baby Back Ribs with that perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness!
