Description

This 0.75 HP stainless steel BigBite® #12 grinder packs a wallop to make short work of your grind time. Grinds approximately 11 lbs. per minute. Features a storage drawer directly underneath the grinder head, rifled head for an easier second grind and stuffing without the stomper, quieter gears and upgraded performance. Grinder features and accessories: all stainless steel motor housing, all metal gears with roller bearings, heavy duty handle for easy moving, 110 volt, permanently lubricated motor with improved grease formulation to reduce motor noise, built-in circuit breaker, stainless steel knife, head, auger and large meat pan, stainless steel coarse (3/8") and fine (3/16") plates, 3 stuffing tubes (5/8", 1", 1-3/8" OD), and meat stomper. Our exclusive BigBite® technology's unique extended auger aggressively grabs hefty "bites" of meat from the pan and draws them through the large-diameter throat where the rifled head quickly feeds them through the grinder. Meat churns quickly through the grinder with no clogging or bogging down and no forceful stomping, resulting in a faster and easier field-to-table experience!

Additional $7.00 handling charge will be applied at checkout.

Love the Reduced Grind and Prep time
Very much impressed. I make Raw Dog Food. Once I was able to figure out how to grind Salmon (with bones and skin), without jamming, we were smooth sailing. Grind time was cut in half. Love being able to use larger pieces of meat.

Love Ittt
Very happy with it so far! Successful first grind. So fun, actually. Easy to clean, pretty quiet, and way less bulky/easier to store and handle than expected.

Perfect for a whole animal
Processing my deer was cut in half. Great upgrade from my old “beginner” Cabela’s one that lasted about 4-5 years.

Best thing I’ve bought for our home/family!!
I bought this many months before deer season so it did take a while to do this review. I researched grinders for over 1 year. I decided on this LEM #12 because of many reasons.#1 a grinder with great reviews and a strong motor. #2 a great company that stands behind their products.#3 lots of parts available (IF) I should ever need them. #4 a company that’s been around a long time. So many folks were buying from MEAT the company but even though they had good products, they have no depth. No parts sitting in a warehouse. In conclusion I did want a 1hp motor but Lem has history and this #12 grinder is heavy duty and well balanced. My wife and I ground 3 whitetails and made 100lbs of hamburger Christmas of 2024. March of 25 we made 25lbs of sausage and w/cheese and it turned out fantastic. If you are on the fence about what grinder to buy, look no further

Raw Cat Food
Works perfect for my raw cat food. It grinds chicken thigh with bone EASILY. For my purposes (once a month cat food grinding) it is great.

Great grinder
Big improvement from the typical big box store meat grinder. We typically butcher 2-3 pigs per year and a couple of deer. This machine is fairly quiet, and really grinds well. Our processing time has improved by hours since getting this grinder about 3 years ago. Not difficult to clean.
This is a good machine for a small operation.

Foot pedal operation is really nice. Hands can stay busy without getting switches dirty. Very efficient.

1st grind went quick, 2nd grind, slow hard to get down to the auger.
It worked as expected. I was thinking there would be a 1/8” plate with it. That is what I use when making summer sausage.
I would recommend this for the hobby sausage maker.

What type/size of bones can this grind besides chicken bones? Thanks

We recommend only grinding chicken bones, as other animal bones are denser and could damage the auger or blade. In addition, the #12, #22 and #32 Big Bite Grinders are the only grinders with the size and horsepower to handle those chicken bones.

I have a 0.75 HP LEM meat grinder that works great. This past year, after having used it for a couple elk in previous seasons, I started to notice a grayish slime or residue on the edge of the plate. I'm not sure if this is the result of some kind of metal grinding and lubricant combination or just smooshed ground meat that's been heated up. I don't notice any grinding on the plate or the auger nor do I know where any potential lubricant would come from. Any ideas to prevent this?

The black residue is generally the result of metal running on metal. It is typically seen when the knife and plate are new and are marrying each other. I would suggest backing the retaining ring off a bit so there is not so much scaring.

Two questions: 1. Your description includes a drawer under the auger. Will you be updating the site to illustrate this? 2. Is it best to have a dedicated knife for each grinding plate so that they wear evenly? If so, do you plan on including a knife with each plate offered, at some additional cost of course, as well as including the second knife with the initial grinder purchase?

1. The current picture for this Big Bite grinder doesn't show the drawer pulled out, but our other Big Bite models have pictures of the open drawer if you'd like to see. Here is a link: http://cdn.lemproducts.com/images/thumb/1777_Grinder_OL_Left_Drawer_WEB.jpg We will work on getting a like picture on all Big Bite grinder pages. 2. We do recommend pairing a knife with each plate, so that the resulting grooves in the plate line up the same way. We do sell additional plates and knives for each of the grinders, and of course, we're always looking for ways to improve. Thanks for the suggestion!

My #12 heats up to the point of cooking the meat on the drive end of the auger. What is the cause?

Please call Service Team, they'll be happy to assist you. They area available Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5PM EST 877-536-7763

Each grinder has a suggested use. What is the difference between Regular Use and Frequent Use ?? Or Heavy Use and Professional Use ?? Do you have any more detailed use-case scenarios?? I couldn't find on the web site. If I grind 100-150lbs of pork once a year is that considered Heavy Use due the the weight ground up at one time or is it considered Occasional Use due to the calendar frequency at only once a year?

It really comes down to the output rate of lbs per minute. All of the grinders will accomplish the task. But if you are running a big batch of sausage, say 30 lbs or more, it makes a big difference if the grinding takes 5 minutes or 20 minutes. Also, in grinding meat, you want to always keep your product ice cold throughout the process. The quicker you can grind a batch the better. I recommend a #12 neck for Hunters or home sausage enthusiasts. But smaller will certainly work.

What is the difference between the improved #12 and the old #12 big bite grinder?

The IMPROVED # 12 Big Bite Grinder has an offset, larger diameter throat, a new rifled head design and an enhanced motor with quieter performance.

Will this grind rabbit and duck bones?

We recommend only grinding chicken bones, as other animal bones are denser and could damage the auger or blade.

Can your grinders grind chicken with bones. If so which grinder would be best for grinding about 40 pounds of chicken a week.

To grind chicken bones, you will need the #12, #22, or #32 grinder. For your needs, the #12 or #22 would be perfect.

Where are your grinders made?

Our Big Bite Grinders are made in China to our stringent specifications. They are backed by our unprecedented 5 year manufacturer's warranty, covering parts and labor, plus we offer a full parts inventory for after the sale.

What is recommended for 3 deer and 5 wild hogs per year?

As long as you aren't processing them all in one day, this model should work great for your needs.
