Very sturdy, but still easily collapsible for packing. Good thick rope, no tangles. And the auto lock works great. Much better than the cheap rigs that sell for a few bucks less, it's definitely worth the few extra bucks.

Awesome
Bought as Christmas present for my husband. Both he and our son got deer last week so I gave this to him early. HE LOVES IT!!! He wished he had this for the last 25 years, hanging deer was SO EASY!!!!

meathead
hoist and gambrel work excellent easy one man operation. but recently got ham cure kits that only had 1poly bag in box and injector was definitely in and out of its box before i got it but everything is in good shape and works fine

Making sure I understand correctly, you hook the deer to the gambrel, throw the rope over a tree limb or similar elevated object, then pull the rope to hoist the deer up, then tie the end of the rope to another object to keep the deer in place? Is that correct? What knot is recommended for tying this setup down?
