Description

Scalding is the secret to plucking a bird, loosening the quills so the feathers come out easily. This poultry scalder has a 13-gallon tub that holds 1-2 chickens at a time. Built to last, it's made from double-walled stainless steel and includes a large spigot for quick clean-up. May also be used to shrink-wrap birds after plucking. The indicator light will go out once desired temperature is reached. Includes detailed instructions for a variety of game and domestic birds.

Once your bird is de-feathered and ready for storage, place it in a poultry shrink bag to complete your poultry processing.

Easy to clean.
Stainless is very easy to clean. Polish with cloth afterward. I do keep lid up overnight to assure it's fully dry on the inside before I set it aside till next processing session.

I really liked the convenience of just setting the temperature and knowing it will stay there.
It worked great and it was easy to clean out. It even held temperature when in the freezing wind.

Perfect scalder for at home butchering
Worked great, held heat all day. Processed 80 chickens one day and 20 the next and never once had to wait or adjust the temperature. We did two birds at a time . Water does take 30-45 minutes using 120° tap water to heat up to 145°. Took a hour and fifteen minutes to heat from 120°tap water to 185° for poultry shrink bags. Easy to clean and appears well built. Only improvement I would like to see is a stand that raises the scalder 12-14" off the ground

Poultry Scalder
We did 13 Cornish /cross broilers worked very well .Wish it would heat up faster but otherwise it does very good job . We had a Plucker so it was pretty easy to it get done between rain storms. 5 stars because 100% better the alternative. Thanks to LEM Products

Well worth the money
We love it. It has done what we thought it would do. Keeping a steady temperature for scalding chicken is vital and this did just that.

Perfect Solution
Perfect. I was able to dial the temperature to exactly what I needed. And it maintained the temp throughout our harvest.

2 Questions
To more accurately answer Bob's question above, I used an online voltage to amperage calculator to get 13.63 amps draw. So a 15 amp circuit should cover this scalder?

Because our barn area is far from a good strong power source we will be using a gas generator to run it.

Is this scalder  big enough for turkeys as well?

This is big enough for a turkey. The opening where you dip the bird is 12 x 12", the depth from bottom to top of the tub is about 22".
