Engineered for ease of use, these casings eliminate the need for complicated preparation, allowing you to create perfect sausages effortlessly. These casings combine high elasticity with a very consistent diameter, providing the right shape for skinless sausage. Thanks to their unique permeability, they allow for excellent smoke absorption and color to create optimal flavor infusion. The black stripe makes it easy to know that the casing is still on. I will definitely order these again
Perfect size for sausages and seemed stronger than what I got last year. I filled 3 of these casings and only had 1 break while twisting/tying them into links. Great product!

Perfect Vegan casing for making plant based meat substitutes!
This is my first time using this product, and I was concerned by some of the comments about it, but found it to serve my purpose very well!

I have plenty of experience making a variety of sausages using both natural and collagen casings. For this project I was looking for a strippable casing that contains NO animal products which rules out collagen and any other casing type I was aware of.

I made a TVP, black bean, and vital wheat mixture and stuffed these casings with it. After steaming the links ang cooling them I tried to strip them, to no avail. They went in the fridge overnight and the next day we decided to soak them in water for a little bit (my fiancee had noted that the casings are to be kept dry in previous process of stuffing it). After that, these casings stripped off nicely and we are excited about the results!

We will deffinately be using them again!

10 Questions
When using Black Stripe casings for hot dogs, must each one be tied? Or can you stuff a long length and cut before cooking in water? Or what is the best method to get your hot dogs stuffed and uniform length? We have never made hotdogs before. Thank-you. Bill

It is one, continuous casing. You can twist (link) them, or make a single, long sausage

When you say cook, what do you mean? I'm new to this and wondering if you boil, grill, or just put them in a smoker? Thanks

These casings are intended to be used in a smoker or water cooked. They have a max temperature of 180 degrees. These casings are not edible and so must be peeled off after cooking. Do not fry or grill with casing on.

Is the cellulose casing vegan?

Cellulose is made of tree pulp. They are very thick and would be difficult to bite and chew, so they are considered non-edible. There is not meat or meat by-products in this casing.

If I understand this correctly. If you were to make a batch of hot dogs using the cellulose casing with the blk stripe and smoke them according to the seasoning directions. They would be pulled from the smoker and would have the casings removed or would you freeze the hot dogs with this casing on and remove prior to grilling the hot dog?

Hi Chris,
We actually stuffed the casings, smoked them and then we cooked the hot dogs in water until internal temp was 155°. Then we removed the casings and then froze them. I hope this helps!

Can you re-use the cellulose casing or are they for a single use?

This is a single use product.

Is this casing made from pork?

Cellulose is made of tree pulp. The casing are very thick and would be difficult to bite and chew.

Are you able to get these cellulose casings in a smaller size for breakfast sausage ? 21mm?

Currently this is the only size we offer, I will pass a long your inquiry for a small size to our Product Specialist.

when do you remove the non edible casings? making ring sausage

Non edible casings are not to be eaten.

Which smoke wood gives more reddish colour to cellulose casing ?

Our Cellulose casings are non-edible with black stripe.
Cellulose is made of tree pulp. That makes the casing very thick and would be difficult to bite and chew.

how many cellulose casing tubes come in a pack?

You will receive 1 sleeve of casing that will stuff approximately 21 lbs. of sausage.
